iPhone Calendar Zen

After some work arounds, like Nuovasync, to sync my Google calendars directly with my iPhone and to have it up to date with my other computers, Google fortunately launched Google Sync some months ago. It’s still in beta but it works!

Maybe you noticed the “Sync” link in your Google calendar options link bar? Click it and you’ll find detailed instructions how to set up an Exchange or an CalDAV account for your calendar in your iPhone. There you can also find instructions how to sync Blackberry, Windows Mobile or the iCal calendar.

If you have more than one calendar in your account there are now two ways to sync and display all of your calendars in your iPhone Cal. You can subscribe via CalDAV to every single calendar in your Google account or surf to http://m.google.com/sync in your iPhone Safari app and choose the calendars you like on your iPhone in a simple web interface (only if you connect via Exchange server service). The use of the Exchange server option is the more elegant one – choose it, if possible.

Maybe you see a message that your device isn’t supported. So you should change the language (temporarly) to “English” and it will work. Choose the device you like to edit and select all the calendars (plus your subscribed and read-only ones) you want.

Now, it’s time to hit the road again! Have fun.
